The Lisbon Tunnelmen aren’t just a team, we’re a group of guys who love the game and want to keep vintage base ball roots alive. Historic base ball isn’t about bright lights or big crowds. It’s about dirt under your shoes, sweat on your brow, and playing the game the way it was meant to be played over 150 years ago.
The Tunnelmen play by the rules of 1864, wear period-accurate uniforms, using authentic equipment to recreate the game as it was originally played. No gloves, no aluminum bats or modern shortcuts. We generally play by the rules of 1864, in uniforms that look like they came straight out of the history books. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s a blast. The Tunnelmen are seeking new players to come join our team. The rules we generally play by can be found here https://www.vbba.org/1864-beadles-rules-with-interpretation/.
